DFDS is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Lead with a passion for procurement.
The Procurement department is a strong integrated partner to the business, and we aim to continuously support our company growth and its strategy within sustainability, digitization and standardization, with a broad exposure to the whole organization, as a Strategic Sourcing Lead you will have the opportunity to impact the development of these strategies in collaboration with the procurement team.
Indirect is a broad category, covering the procurement of Professional and Financial Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Insurance, Partnerships and more. The right candidate will support the development of a strategic vision for these specific categories. In addition to this, it is expected that you will be able to increase the procurement spend coverage and identify opportunities for delivering additional value. Depending upon your skills, background, and interest you will support some of these categories.
Do you have the drive and capabilities to support the Indirect procurement team and our stakeholders to become a success?
In collaboration with the Head of Department, Category Managers and our stakeholders across the organization, you will be responsible for optimizing DFDS’s global spend. The goal is to support DFDS’s strategy and at the same time achieve the lowest possible total cost to DFDS (TCO), ensure minimal contractual and commercial risks for DFDS, while taking quality, risk, environmental and social aspects into due consideration.
You will be responsible for supporting projects at various levels. Depending on the department your tasks will consist of:
- Run an end-to-end sourcing process in all its different aspects from preparation to execution, to follow-up.
- Drive analytical insights across various categories including complex calculations for recommendations and decision-making
- Perform negotiations with suppliers in different conditions and cross-functional teams.
- Execute different kinds of agreement (i.e. Frame agreements, SOW, Managed Services, Consultancy) with selected suppliers.
- Facilitate meetings with strategic suppliers and drive Supplier relationship Management, where applicable
- Follow up on suppliers spend and category targets and suggest improvement actions.
- Act as a professional integrated partner to the business and challenge the status quo.
- Build a strong network both internally in DFDS and externally with suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Supporting position in the implementation and maintenance of global/regional contracts and best practice sharing throughout DFDS with the purpose of optimizing supplier performance and general efficiency.

You have great interpersonal skills and feel comfortable in engaging with stakeholders on all levels of the organization. You enjoy a dynamic work environment full of challenges and thrive having a lot on your plate. Furthermore, you are a true team player with the ability to challenge the current situation based on strong communication, sharp analytical skills and change management capabilities.
- Preferably you have min. 2 years of experience from a procurement function covering strategic procurement, supplier performance/management and supply chain management.
- Prior work experience with strategic procurement with one of the above or similar categories is considered an advantage.
- Commercial legal experience is considered an advantage.
- Some experience with agile procurement and adaptive sourcing is considered an advantage.
- Experience and knowledge about RfX processes, execution, and negotiation strategies
- Proven experience of negotiating with suppliers is considered an advantage.
- Your English language skills, oral and written, are excellent and you are a proficient IT user.
- Comfortable to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Capable to handle several procurement projects at the same time.
- As a person you are proactive, result-oriented, you have strong analytical skills and focus on DFDS’s and stakeholders’ needs.
