About the role:
As a Customs Team Leader, you'll lead a team to ensure compliance with trade regulations, manage documentation, and facilitate smooth cross-border goods movement. Your responsibilities also include risk management, stakeholder communication, problem-solving, process enhancement, and demonstrating strong leadership in the customs and trade domain.
As a Customs Team Leader, people management is a critical aspect of your role. You will be responsible for not only understanding and applying international trade regulations but also for guiding and leading your team.
Your main scope of duties and responsibilities will be to:
1. Leading and management of approx. 15 employees:
- mentor for team members,
- supervision of work within the scope of tasks performed by individual team employees,
- plan the work of subordinate team,
- coordinate and control employees' absences,
- prepare performance evaluation and targets setup for team members,
- perform the onboarding process for new employees,
- encourage positive relations within the team,
- give regular feedback,
- support DFDS Way culture
- liaising on a regular basis with the indirect tax management team in order to continuously improve the standards in a new activity in the FSSC. You will be assisted in your daily work by the group tax dept.
2. Responsibility for team processes:
- have control over team projects,
- support changes within processes,
- continuous drive to improve internal processes and procedures to reduce transactional costs and handling time, ensure accurate, timely and high quality service including KPI management,
- report the results to management and client
3. Client service:
- become a trusted business partner
- build positive and long-term relations with subordinates and clients,
- cooperate with external financial and/or consulting institutions
- build an effective cross team cooperation
- build a positive work atmosphere

About you:

We are seeking a candidate who possesses:
- Experience in a customs or logistics environment
- Fluency in English; knowledge of a second European language is a plus
- A good understanding of tax, customs, and logistics processes would be beneficial
- At least one year of experience in a leadership or coordinator role would be beneficial
- Familiarity with or interest in digital and logistics IT systems
- Educational background in logistics or economics would be beneficial
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and other commonly used software
- A keen eye for detail, diligence, and strong organizational skills
- A driven, positive attitude with a passion for fostering team spirit
