Master Data Analyst
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
About the role
As a Master Data Analyst, you will work closely with local business units and colleagues across multiple departments. While your daily work will include the creation and maintenance of product or customer data (depending on the team you join), a key part of this role is taking ownership of Master Data processes end-to-end.
You will analyse how Master Data flows through the organisation, map processes, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements that enhance data quality, efficiency, and standardisation. You will also represent the Master Data team in cross-functional meetings, ensuring our processes and standards are clearly understood and continuously improved.
Depending on the team, your core operational responsibilities will include:
Creation and maintenance of product data for DFDS duty-free shops on board our vessels and in ports, ensuring accurate pricing, availability, and categorisation.
Creation and maintenance of customer accounts across all DFDS organisations, including verification of customer information, performing required checks, and ensuring accurate updates across operational and ERP systems.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Process Analysis & Improvement
Analyse Master Data processes end-to-end and create clear process maps.
Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and pain points in workflows.
Propose and initiate improvements, including standardisation and automation opportunities.
Support ongoing transformation initiatives by ensuring processes are aligned with business needs.
Master Data Operations
Create, maintain, and update product or customer data in DFDS operational and ERP systems.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Master Data standards.
Perform bulk updates and support database clean-up and categorisation projects.
Business Awareness:
Understand the impact of Master Data on customer experience and operational efficiency.
Align daily work with broader business goals and transformation initiatives.
Ensure standards are upheld and represent Master Data in cross-functional meetings.
Data Analysis & Validation
Use intermediate Excel functions (e.g., XLOOKUP, MAX IF, TRIM, ROUND, LEN, LEFT, RIGHT) to compare, validate, and analyse data.
Investigate issues raised by colleagues, identify root causes, and escalate when needed.
Communication & Representation
Represent the Master Data team in cross-functional meetings.
Communicate clearly, ask questions, challenge assumptions when needed, and explain complex topics in a structured way.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple countries.
Technical & Organizational Skills
Work efficiently with large datasets in Excel.
Manage tasks through ticketing systems.
Prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tickets and projects simultaneously.
Teamwork & Adaptability
Collaborate within a supportive team environment.
Share knowledge and adapt to changing priorities and new projects.
We value both professional growth and strong teamwork. We enjoy shared lunches and monthly team-building activities, creating an environment where collaboration thrives. We work in a hybrid model (2–3 days per week from our Poznań office). For new joiners, we recommend spending the first 2–3 weeks in the office for a smooth onboarding experience.
