Master Data Governance Specialist

About the role:
The Master Data Governance Specialist is responsible for defining, maintaining, and enforcing Master Data standards across the organization.
This role partners closely with business stakeholders and Master Data teams in Poznan and Copenhagen to establish data definitions, confirm data requirements based on business needs, and ensure compliance with our Master Data governance framework.
The specialist plays an active role in standardisation initiatives, supports continuous improvement, and challenges existing processes to strengthen data quality, consistency, and usability.
Your main scope of duties and responsibilities include:
1. Master Data Standard Catalogue Management
• Maintain the Master Data standards in the Master Data Standard Catalogue, ensuring completeness, and accuracy.
• Participate in designing and implementing the new Business Glossary tool for replacement of the current Catalogue.
• Manage the new Business Glossary tool, including creation, maintenance, version control, and revision of data definitions, attributes, and business rules.
• Analyse data attributes and requirements for logical consistency, duplication, and alignment with Business processes, systems, Master Data governance principles and internal MD processes, in close collaboration with colleagues in the MD Teams and business.
• Ensure data quality requirements are formulated in an understandable way, both for business and Technical Specialist so that the results of the requirements can be visualised on the Data Quality Dashboard.
2. Administration and Coordination of Governance Boards
• Prepare meeting agendas and presentations in close collaboration with the Head of Data Governance and Chair of the Board
• Assist the Chair of the Board with analyses of business pains, Master Data processes and system challenges to reach conclusions that can be presented to the Board.
• Call for and ensure outcome of preparatory and working meetings with stakeholders in business and IT to prepare material for the Board
• Call for Board meetings as well as preparatory meetings with Board members or business or IT stakeholders.
• Track actions from Board meetings.
• Maintain structured records of Board activities and decisions.
• Ensure publication of agendas, presentations and minutes from Board meetings on the Master Data Governance home page.
3. Master Data Governance & Standards
• Actively participate in business meetings and workshops to establish, review, and confirm master data standards
• Translate business needs into clear, standardized Master Data definitions in alignment with governance policies.
About you:
A perfect candidate should have a natural flair for creating structure and overview. What we appreciate is a systematic approach with strong focus of business needs.
The successful candidate will have:
• Fluency in English – both written and spoken
• Experience in collaboration with many different stakeholders that do not have Master Data Management as part of their daily job.
• Collaboration will often take place online, so you must be familiar with remote collaboration
• Experience in driving activities that go across Business areas and many cross functional teams to successful delivery of good results
• Strong communication skills to explain the complexity and benefits of Master Data Management and standardisation across systems and business units
• The ability to enter fruitful discussions with stakeholders and have the courage to sometimes say no – for instance to deviate from a standard
• Self-confidence and openness to work with technical staff, highly specialised subject matter experts as well as managers and leaders
